We hosted our first Back to School Fair on July 24, 2026 with the theme “Building a Strong Foundation for Student Success, Family Safety, & Community Readiness" to focus on

• Empowering Student Confidence - Gathering before the school year begins, equips K-12 students with positive emotional support, high excitement, and essential peer social connections before the first bell rings.

• Supporting Household Logistics - Equipping parents with safety, transportation, and health resources in a single, stress-free venue to help set solid family habits for the entire school year.

• Building a Community of Support - Connecting students and their families with others to build a community of support, rather than waiting until the first Parent-Teacher conference of the year. Families were able to find more information about out-of-school and community activities to ensure that students make the most of their year.

On May 13, 2026 we partnered with the Ministry of Health & Human Services, Bureau of Behavioral Health’s Division of Psychiatry, and the Ministry of Human Resources, Culture, Tourism, and Development’s Division of Youth & Career Development to host the "Unplug to Connect" event in celebration of Children's Mental Health Day. Our concept was to promote screen-free and drug-free activities and habits that help kid be healthy and happy.

As a member of the Earth Day Committee, we hosted a Community Closet let by our youth Project Leader, Ms. Shuri Chibana.  Shuri pitched her idea for a free event for anyone to bring used clothing and/or take used clothing at a swap event.  The event highlighted how everyday choices such as re-wearing and sharing, reduce textile waste and strengthen community care. Through this simple yet impactful initiative, the clothing swap demonstrated that sustainability is not only about large-scale solutions but also about collective community action rooted in sharing and responsibility.  Sustainability is not expensive technology, it is community behavior. 

We had such an overwhelmingly positive response to this project and we plan to continue hosting Community Closet events throughout the year. To donate or volunteer at an event, contact us at info@rengelekelbelau.pw.
